Modern, Romantic, Pastel Wedding Flowers

Earlier this year, I had the absolute joy of designing the wedding flowers for Janine & Chris - two of the warmest, most fun-loving people you could ever hope to meet. From the very beginning, they knew they wanted to be surrounded by soft, romantic pastel wedding flowers - but beyond the colour palette, they were open to suggestions and happy to trust me to guide them and shape their vision. Together, we created something beautiful that truly felt like them.

This wedding was filled with love, laughter, and plenty of personality — from the incredible live band to the talented artist sketching guests in real time, not to mention the most delicious food. It was an absolute dream to be a part of making their big day epic!

And while Janine & Chris were definitely the stars of the show, there was one very special guest who nearly stole the spotlight… their gorgeous black lab Famba, who proudly trotted down the aisle as their ringbearer! Honestly, hearts melted everywhere! Keep scrolling and make sure you have tissues on hand!

Planning the Dreamy, Pastel Floral Designs

Designing Janine & Chris’s floral story was such a treat. We wanted their pastel wedding flowers to feel modern, textural, and romantic, and I couldn’t wait to bring the vision to life!

Among other varieties, I designed with the most beautiful blooms, including:

  • Soft, fragrant pink and white O’Hara roses

  • Delicate yellow and peach matthiola

  • Frilly lisianthus in white, soft pink, and peach

  • Airy blue delphinium

  • Star-shaped lavender clematis

  • Pretty lilac and white campanula

Together, they created a palette that was elegant yet playful, perfect for a summer wedding bursting with joy.

Modern Pastel Bridal & Bridesmaids’ Bouquets

The bridal bouquet was crafted in my signature style: layered, textural, and slightly untamed, giving it a natural, romantic feel. Long silk ribbons in soft complementary tones trailed beautifully, adding extra movement and drama. Can we also take a moment to appreciate our gorgeous bride, Janine's, stunning gown? I'm obsessed!

The bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets that echoed the same delicate pastel tones, tying everything together seamlessly. The buttonholes matched too — a thoughtful finishing touch for the groom and groomsmen. And would you just look at adorable little Famba sitting by his dad's side as he was getting ready? Such a good boy!

Trendy Pastel Wedding Ceremony Flowers

My favourite design from the day was the grounded floral arch, also known as a 'floral nest'. This modern ceremony feature literally surrounded the couple in blooms as they exchanged their vows, creating the dreamiest backdrop against the beautiful, big windows at Millbridge Court.

And the best part? It didn’t stay in one place! After the ceremony, we repurposed the grounded arch throughout the venue - framing the signage, adding a gorgeous backdrop for the musicians during the reception, decorating the dessert table, and more. Everywhere it went, the fragrance of those divine O’Hara roses filled the air, making the celebration even more magical.

Just like Janine & Chris's floral nest, I love finding clever ways to repurpose ceremony flowers for the reception, allowing these gorgeous blooms to create maximum impact throughout the day.

Pastel Wedding Reception Flowers

For the centrepieces, we kept the look elegant and modern. Minimalistic ribbed glass bud vases were grouped together, each filled with the gorgeous varieties of pastel flowers, creating a lot of depth and texture within the tablescape. To elevate the look further, we paired them with tall-stemmed silver candlesticks and soft-toned dinner candles that complemented the blooms beautifully.

Dreaming of Pastel Wedding Flowers?

I absolutely loved working with this sweet couple and playing a part in making their big day extra special! If you’re planning your own celebration and love the idea of modern, romantic pastel wedding flowers (or any other colour palette you have in mind!), I’d be delighted to bring your vision to life. From dreamy bouquets to a showstopping ceremony feature to beautifully styled reception tables, and more, I’d love to create beautiful, impactful floral designs that are personal to you and your story.
