PASTEL WEDDING FLOWERS AT MILLBRIDGE COURT – SURREY WEDDING FLORIST

Writer: ZuzannaZuzanna

Are you enchanted by delicate pastel blooms for your special day? Emily and Brad certainly were, and I absolutely loved working with this lovely couple to make their wedding day extra special! Join me as we explore how I added a unique twist to their soft colour palette, creating a stunning floral design that elevated their wedding day. As a Surrey wedding florist (and one of Millbridge Court's recommended suppliers), I have the pleasure of working at this beautiful venue quite often, and I’ve learned exactly how to make the most of this lovely space. I hope this post inspires your wedding planning journey!

SOFT, PASTEL WEDDING FLOWERS WITH AN EARTHY BROWN ACCENT

Every wedding—and every couple—is one-of-a-kind, and I pride myself on crafting something truly special for each of my clients. During our initial chat, when Emily expressed her love for pastel pinks and lilacs, I suggested adding a hint of earthy brown to their palette. This little twist not only made the colour scheme more captivating but resulted in a stunning visual impact!

I designed their beautiful arrangements and installations with beautifully fragrant white O’Hara roses and muted pink Notre Dame roses, complemented by the warm tones of Pimm’s roses. To create more texture, I incorporated magnificent blush dahlias Wizard of Oz, playful pink snapdragons, lovely rice flowers, achillea, waxflower, and delicate, bouncy clematis. These elements, paired with dainty foliage, created an elegant, organic look that beautifully brought their vision to life.

MODERN, ELEGANT, TEXTURAL BOUQUETS AND BUTTONHOLES

Emily’s and her bridesmaids’ bouquets were designed in my signature style – layered, slightly unstructured, light and airy, with delicate floral elements bouncing above the outline of the bouquet. To add a romantic touch, I bound them all with long trailing ivory, nude and brown silk ribbons.

The buttonholes, incorporating delicate flowers and dainty foliage elements, matched the bouquets perfectly, creating a beautiful, cohesive look.

Once I delivered the bouquets to Emily in the Loft—along with a warm wedding morning hug—I seamlessly transitioned to setting up the ceremony flowers.

Thanks to the charming peeping window in the Loft at Millbridge Court, Emily was able to catch a glimpse of how her vision was coming to life!

WEDDING CEREMONY FLOWERS AT MILLBRIDGE COURT

Rather than scattering numerous smaller arrangements throughout the ceremony room, Emily and Brad opted for a striking focal point as they exchanged their vows. I created stunning, abundant floral columns that framed the ceremony beautifully, providing a perfect backdrop for the special moment they became husband and wife.

This type of 'open' design complements the indoor ceremony space at Millbridge Court beautifully, harmonising with the stunning window and its linear features.

I employed a colour-blocking technique in this design, strategically grouping similar hues to create a harmonious visual experience. This approach not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also allows the viewer's eye to comfortably rest on various sections of the composition.

We also positioned two beautiful, free-standing floral pieces at the back of the last rows of chairs, welcoming guests as they entered the ceremony room.

MILLBRIDGE COURT RECEPTION FLOWERS

After the ceremony, the floral columns were positioned in the corners of the reception room, framing their top table beautifully. The two free-standing floral pieces graced the ends of the long guests’ tables, creating visual interest within the space.

Minimalistic yet absolutely lovely, the centrepieces consisted of ribbed ceramic bud vases in neutral tones filled with gorgeous flowers, tying the floral décor together for an elegant, cohesive look.

Emily’s bridal bouquet found a special place on the cake table - aren’t their cake-cutting photos absolutely delightful?

REPURPOSING CEREMONY FLOWERS DURING RECEPTION

As a Surrey wedding florist, one of my favourite aspects of the floral design process is ensuring that ceremony flowers can easily be repurposed for the reception, allowing maximum impact throughout the day., and at the same time, helping the couples to make the most of their floral investment.
