If you’re dreaming of soft, romantic pastel wedding flowers, this Millbridge Court celebration is full of inspiration.

Emily and Brad chose a beautifully delicate colour palette, and I absolutely loved working with them to create something truly special for their day. As a Surrey wedding florist - and one of Millbridge Court’s recommended suppliers - I’m lucky enough to work at this stunning venue regularly, and I’ve learned exactly how to design flowers that complement the space perfectly.

In this post, I’m sharing how we elevated their pastel vision with a subtle, modern twist.

Soft Pastel Wedding Flowers With an Earthy Twist

Every couple I work with has a unique vision, and my role as a Surrey wedding florist is to bring that vision to life in a way that feels personal and memorable.

When Emily told me she loved pastel pinks and lilacs, I suggested introducing a hint of earthy brown to add depth and contrast. This small addition made a huge difference - creating a palette that felt more refined, modern, and visually striking.

The floral designs featured:

  • Fragrant white O’Hara roses

  • Muted pink Notre Dame roses

  • Warm-toned Pimm’s roses

  • Blush dahlias (Wizard of Oz)

  • Soft pink snapdragons

  • Rice flower, achillea, and waxflower

  • Delicate clematis for movement

Combined with dainty foliage, these elements created a textural, organic, and effortlessly elegant look that brought everything together beautifully.

Modern, Textural Bouquets and Buttonholes

The bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets were designed in my signature style - light, airy, and slightly unstructured, with soft movement and layers of texture.

Individual blooms were allowed to shine, with delicate elements dancing above the natural outline of the bouquet. Each bouquet was finished with trailing silk ribbons in ivory, nude, and soft brown tones for a romantic, elevated finish.

The buttonholes mirrored the bouquet designs, incorporating smaller floral elements and foliage to create a cohesive and polished overall look.

Once I delivered the bouquets to Emily in the Loft - along with a warm wedding morning hug - I seamlessly transitioned to setting up the ceremony flowers.

Thanks to the charming peeping window in the Loft at Millbridge Court, Emily was able to catch a glimpse of how her vision was coming to life!

Wedding Ceremony Flowers at Millbridge Court

For their ceremony, Emily and Brad chose to focus on impact rather than quantity.

Instead of multiple smaller arrangements, we designed two abundant floral columns to frame the ceremony space. These created a beautiful focal point as the couple exchanged their vows and worked perfectly with the clean lines and large window at Millbridge Court.

The open, airy structure of the designs allowed the flowers to enhance the space without overwhelming it - something I always consider carefully as a Surrey wedding florist working at this venue.

To add depth and visual harmony, I used a subtle colour-blocking technique, grouping similar tones together so the eye could move naturally across the design.

We also placed two freestanding floral arrangements at the back of the aisle, creating a welcoming moment for guests as they entered the ceremony room.

Millbridge Court Reception Flowers

Following the ceremony, the floral designs were thoughtfully repurposed to transform the reception space.

The ceremony columns were repositioned to frame the top table, while the freestanding arrangements were moved to the ends of the guest tables, adding height and interest throughout the room.

For the table styling, Emily and Brad opted for a minimalist yet elegant approach. We used ribbed ceramic bud vases in neutral tones, each filled with carefully selected blooms to tie in with the overall floral palette.

Emily’s bridal bouquet was later placed on the cake table - adding a lovely, personal touch and looking beautiful in their cake-cutting photos.

Repurposing Ceremony Flowers - a Surrey Wedding Florist's Approach

As a Surrey wedding florist, I always encourage couples to think about how their flowers can be repurposed throughout the day.

Not only does this maximise the visual impact of your designs, but it also ensures you’re getting the most from your floral investment.

From ceremony backdrops to reception styling, there are so many creative ways to reuse your flowers seamlessly - and I always guide my couples through the best options for their venue.
