MODERN, ELEGANT, PASTEL WEDDING FLOWERS – SPRING HINWICK HOUSE WEDDING

Ugochi and Urefe's story is so heartwarming! They were childhood friends who met in church. Even though they were separated by distance for some time, their friendship remained strong through constant communication, and they always supported each other throughout the years. When they reunited after a long time, they realised that their affection for each other had never wavered, and they decided to start a new journey together.

Urefe's proposal was magical. It happened against the beautiful backdrop of a white and blue church, overlooking the sea at the picturesque Red Beach in Santorini. Getting down on one knee, he asked Ugochi the four-word question, and without hesitation, she said 'yes'!

I recently had the pleasure of making Ugochi & Urefe’s wedding day extra special with gorgeous flowers. The couple got married at Hinwick House - a beautiful, grand, Grade I-listed Queen Anne country house modelled on the original Buckingham Palace. This stunning venue is set in thirty-eight acres of magnificent parkland, and consists of the Queen Anne main house spread over three floors with more than twenty bedrooms where their loved ones could stay, the Great Hall, the Stables, two ornamental lakes and a deer park, among other magnificent areas.

Keep reading to see how we incorporated our modern, elegant floristry style to complement this magnificent venue and its beautiful features, and elevated Ugochi & Urefe’s big day with gorgeous, impactful floral design.

WARM PASTEL WEDDING FLOWERS AT HINWICK HOUSE

I wanted the wedding flowers to reflect the bride's favourite soft pastel colours of peach, pink, and cream, while also complementing the decor at Hinwick House. To make it more unique, I suggested incorporating a touch of brown and a pop of brighter shades of pink. The results were impressive! I chose a beautiful selection of premium flowers including Playa Blanca, Quicksand, Victorian Peach, Retro Love and Toffee rose, frilly Lisianthus Alissa Apricot and Celeb Crystal, Delphinium, fluffy Peony, Majolica Spray Rose, textural Matthiola, Allium Neopolitanum and Rice Flower, as well as other stunning floral elements to achieve this.

HINWICK HOUSE CEREMONY FLOWERS

The couple exchanged their vows in front of the beautiful door connecting the two parts of the Drawing Room. I designed their ceremony flowers with a lot of intention, ensuring that they enhanced the venue’s features and worked with its style perfectly. The bride and groom were framed by beautiful, textural floral pieces arranged on top of minimalistic, white plinths and in modern, elegant, off-white, glossy ceramic vases. Arranging the flowers at different heights created a lot of depth and dimension within the design. I completed the look by incorporating some pillar candles in glass cylinder vases, which contributed towards creating a lovely, romantic atmosphere.

The bride’s walk down the aisle was adorned by gorgeous meadow box aisle flowers dotted along the way, which created a beautiful pop of colour and brought the whole of the ceremony room together.

HINWICK HOUSE RECEPTION FLOWERS

The reception decor in the Great Hall was stunning! Half of the round guest tables were adorned with beautiful full centrepieces in minimalistic ceramic dishes, while the other half showcased a charming collection of ribbed ceramic bud vases filled with gorgeous florals. The tables were elegantly complemented with minimalistic gold candlesticks and tapered candles, creating a warm and romantic ambience.

The sweetheart table was the focal point, surrounded by gorgeous flowers. The ceremony plinths were elegantly positioned at the sides of the table, framing the bride and groom throughout the day. The ceremony aisle meadow boxes arranged in front of the table added an abundance of floral beauty. The table was adorned with stunning, textural floral arrangements in small cement pots and ceramic bud vases filled with gorgeous flowers, and the look was completed with soft candlelight.

REUSING CEREMONY FLOWERS FOR RECEPTION

Every single element of Ugochi & Urefe’s ceremony flowers, as well as the aisle decor, were repurposed during the reception, creating maximum impact throughout the day, whilst allowing the couple to make the most of their floral investment.
