Ugochi and Urefe’s love story is so heartwarming. They were childhood friends who met at church, and even when distance separated them, their friendship remained strong through years of constant communication and unwavering support. When they reunited, they realised their affection had never faded, and they chose to begin their new journey together.
Their proposal was truly magical, set against the backdrop of a white and blue church overlooking the sea at Santorini’s picturesque Red Beach. When Urefe got down on one knee and asked the four-word question, Ugochi joyfully said “yes”!
I recently had the pleasure of designing Hinwick House wedding flowers for their special day, bringing warmth, beauty, and elegance to their celebration.

A Stunning Hinwick House Wedding
Nestled in the Northamptonshire countryside, Hinwick House is a grand, Grade I-listed Queen Anne country house, originally modelled on Buckingham Palace. Set within 38 acres of magnificent parkland, this venue features the Queen Anne main house with over 20 bedrooms for guests, the Great Hall, Stables, ornamental lakes, and a deer park.
It’s no surprise that many couples dream of a Hinwick House wedding, with its breathtaking architecture and elegant English countryside feel providing the perfect backdrop for a romantic celebration.
Bringing Warmth to Hinwick House Wedding Flowers
For this special day, I wanted the wedding flowers to reflect Ugochi’s favourite soft pastel palette of peach, pink, and cream, while beautifully complementing Hinwick House’s decor and grand yet welcoming feel. To add a modern twist, we included touches of warm brown and pops of brighter pinks.
We used a stunning selection of premium blooms, including Playa Blanca, Quicksand, Victorian Peach, Retro Love, and Toffee roses, frilly Lisianthus, fluffy Peonies, Majolica spray roses, Delphinium, Matthiola, Allium, and Rice Flower, creating a warm, textural, and elegant floral story for their big day.

Hinwick House Ceremony Flowers
The couple exchanged vows in front of the beautiful doors connecting the Drawing Room’s two parts, and I designed their ceremony flowers with intention, ensuring every element elevated Hinwick House’s stunning features.
The couple was framed by textural floral arrangements displayed on minimalistic white plinths in modern, off-white ceramic vases. Arranging the flowers at varying heights created depth and interest, while pillar candles in glass cylinders added soft, romantic light to the ceremony.
The aisle was adorned with boxed floral meadows, bringing gentle pops of colour that tied the entire ceremony space together beautifully.

Hinwick House Reception Flowers
The reception in the Great Hall was nothing short of breathtaking. Half of the round guest tables featured lush floral centrepieces in minimalist ceramic vessels, while the others displayed clusters of ribbed ceramic bud vases filled with beautiful blooms. We paired these with simple gold candlesticks and tapered candles to create a warm, romantic glow.
The sweetheart table was a floral focal point, framed by the ceremony plinth arrangements on either side and lined with the aisle meadow boxes to create an abundance of blooms around the couple. Additional floral arrangements in small stone vessels and bud vases, paired with soft candlelight, completed this modern, elegant look.

Repurposing Ceremony Flowers for the Reception
Every element of Ugochi and Urefe’s ceremony flowers, including the aisle decor, was thoughtfully repurposed for the reception. This approach ensured that their floral designs had maximum impact throughout the day while making the most of their floral investment.
