I had the absolute pleasure of designing the wedding flowers for Priyanjali and Jonny’s beautiful and intimate celebration at the stunning Danesfield House in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The couple chose to host two wedding days: a small, heartfelt ceremony in the UK surrounded by just a handful of their closest loved ones, followed by a larger celebration in Sri Lanka later in the year. It was such a joy and honour to be part of their UK celebration and help bring their floral vision to life with thoughtfully curated Danesfield House wedding flowers.

Keep reading to see how we brought soft elegance and texture into their floral designs—and for a few meaningful ways to honour loved ones at your wedding.

Soft and Elegant Danesfield House Wedding Flowers

Set among beautifully landscaped gardens with sweeping views over the River Thames, Danesfield House is an exquisite luxury wedding venue. The Versailles Room, where the ceremony was held, features soft pink walls, golden details, and glittering crystal chandeliers—an effortlessly romantic setting for an elegant celebration.

To complement both the setting and Priyanjali’s stunning peach-toned bridal saree, we designed florals in a delicate palette of ivory, blush, peach, and white. These Danesfield House wedding flowers were created with a romantic and refined aesthetic in mind—elegant yet minimal, with texture and softness throughout.

We used lush, fully opened Playa Blanca roses, blush Ranunculus, apricot Matthiola, frilly blush and white Lisianthus, Allium Neopolitanum, and airy pink Genista, among other beautiful seasonal blooms. The mix of florals brought warmth, movement, and a gentle touch of colour to the day.

A Touching Tribute and a Beautiful Aisle Moment

One of the most special details was the inclusion of a charm with a photo of Priyanjali’s grandmother, who wasn’t able to travel from Sri Lanka. We attached it to her bridal bouquet—such a personal and heartfelt way to honour someone dear.

For the ceremony setup, we created a floral installation along the grand mantelpiece in the Versailles Room, forming a romantic backdrop for the vows. With only around twenty guests attending, there was extra space along the aisle, so we styled it with groupings of floral arrangements, tall glass vases with pillar candles, and scattered rose petals. The result was a beautifully intimate and atmospheric setting that elevated the room while maintaining a sense of warmth and softness.

The couple also paid tribute to loved ones who had passed by placing their framed photos and a single white rose on the ceremony chairs, and later lighting a candle during the reception—small, thoughtful touches that added real meaning to the day.

Danesfield House Reception Flowers

Every element of the couple’s Danesfield House wedding flowers was designed to be repurposed and enjoyed throughout the entire day. After the ceremony, we moved the floral arrangement from the Versailles Room mantle to the Henley Room, where the reception was held. The aisle flowers and candles were also thoughtfully reused throughout the space, helping to create a cohesive and romantic ambience.

For the wedding breakfast, the couple dined at one large oval table with their guests. We styled it with delicate, clear bud vases filled with soft-toned blooms, alongside tapered candles and tea lights, adding elegance without overpowering the intimacy of the moment.

It was such a joy to work with this wonderful couple and help them create a meaningful and memorable celebration with flowers that reflected their style and story. I can’t wait to return to Danesfield House again—it’s truly a dream venue for a floral designer!
